![]() Each orchard row has a different tree to help mitigate pests, So there are two rows of apples, cherries, peaches, and pecans. I'll try to upload a pic.Ĭrops in the middle are Wheat. The market isn't directly next door, but not all that far away. I do try to maximize crops/orchards/pastures using the calculators. Yeah, I used the wrong word there, I meant Barn not Stockpile. Ideally - and here I agree with 28rommel - you'll have your tavern near a market, where the vendors take care to stock all kinds of things. Food is stored in barns, but usually the barn that's next to the producer. Don't get me wrong, stockpiles are important - but they don't store food. You mentioned having stockpiles near your tavern. That being said, there's something else I noticed. ![]() ![]() I usually choose one of the fruits above to brew from, and make sure to produce a surplus of that fruit so I'll always have some available for the breweries. (When are they, ever? Still, capacity doesn't usually go below 50%, does it?) ![]() And orchards, if done right, produce more food (15x7 size) than a field if at 100% capacity. If the CC mod doesn't change things and the numbers are the same in vanilla, you need 60 wheat to produce 10 ale, but you only need 30 cherries/pears/peaches for the same amount. Originally posted by olympe:Personally, I prefer to *not* use wheat for ale. I can only assume that from a space/production point of view Wheat is probably much more efficient anyways I always used orchards for the Tavern since in my head that would produce better ale (not in game, but just in my head-canon) But I'll try it with Wheat instead. I tend to sell Firewood and Fish primarily since I always seem to have a surplus of fish and Firewood is (arguably) second-best for trading after Ale. I had no idea food variety even mattered, I just tend to diversify my production just because I like how it looks XD Originally posted by 28rommel:Not sure about a mod, but this is what I do for my Taverns. I rarely have zero wheat and any given time (but to play it safe, I buy corn from Merchants also, that way citizens are guaranteed grain for their diet). Also, when a Merchant arrives at my Trading Post and has wheat to sell me, I buy the maximum amount he has. I use the extra venison, fish, firewood, herbs, ale (that I stockpile at my Trading Posts) to buy all other food items required for full health of my citizens (fruits and vegetables mainly, as I have plenty of meat). And as an added bonus, citizens will grab some wheat (usually from the Market) to have full health. All my farms produce wheat, and nothing else, this way there is a constant supply of the resource needed for Ale production. The only two grains in the game are corn and wheat, and you cannot make Ale using corn. Your citizens require grain in their diet to have full 5-star health (read here if you are unaware ). Keep room for a total of 2 (or 3) Taverns facing the Market, for future expansion of your city. Your Vendors (who work at the Market) do a very good job of constantly stockpiling the item used to make your Ale, and thus the Brewer has a very short walk to pickup the raw resource to then make the Ale. Place your Tavern right next to the Market, with its store-front facing the Market. Place the limit for stockpile of Ale at all of your Trading Posts to a very high number, this way the Traders will always pickup Ale from the Tavern as soon as the Brewer produces a batch (and this way your citizens wont get much of an opportunity to go there are drink it). I use the Tavern to produce Ale for export, as it makes an excellent and well priced good for exchange. įirst, just like you, I don't need the Tavern (or a Chapel) for happiness, as my average happiness for all citizens is 5 stars (maximum). Not sure about a mod, but this is what I do for my Taverns.
